Colour in Indian fashion is the major medium of the designers to showcase their talent and the taste. Fashion itself is an art. Fashion is nothing but the extension of one’s intellect.  Fashion is the world where the freedom of choosing the hues and mixing them in proper proportion and combination and presenting them to the humanity. Balance and harmony are achieved by the visual contrast that exists between color combinations. A successful colour combination is achieved through the investigation and understanding of colour relationships.

Colours can be distinguished as warm colours and cool colours. Warm colors include magenta, red, orange, yellow and greenish-yellow are stimulating colors that motivate energy, activity and excitement. As a rule, warm colors produce feelings of warmth, romance, comfort and happiness.  Cool colors includes shades of purple, blue, turquoise and green usually cause people to feel calm and relaxed. Cool colors tend to evoke emotions of peace, tranquility and sometimes sadness or withdrawal.
