Georgette is a fabric which has a western origin and as crepe and chiffon it can be created with various kind of yarns which includes silk and other man made filament yarns. The georgette is a lightweight fabric and is denser and heavier than the chiffon fabric. This fabric is difficult to stitch. Due to the variety in manufacturing process and selection of yarns the georgette also has many varieties like silk georgette and chiffon georgette etc.
In the west the georgette is used to create the blouse and other dresses, but the georgette has mixed well into the Indian fashion arena. There are diverse requirements in the styles of Indian dressing. The need may vary from religious to regional requirements.
The saree has very old history and existed in the Indian sub continent since last 5000 years. As the oldest Indian scriptures like the Vedas also mention the existence of the saree, in that period.
In the same way cotton is being used for creation of fabric since ages, many proofs are there which establish the existence of cotton fabric at the time of Harappa and Mohenjo Daro which itself dates back to approximately 3000 BC. Since very old time the expert spinners were able to spin very fine cotton yarns in India, which enabled the weavers to create quality cotton fabrics, which included sarees also.

Sari an Indian wear makes a woman look graceful, stylish, elegant and sensuous. But it’s important to drape a Sari properly as a clumsily draped Sari (sari) brings down the look of the Sari and spoils the whole appearance. Some basic steps on how to buy and drape a Sari .
Buying Saris : -
1.Women on heavier side should buy saris in Georgette, Chiffon or Chignon. Heavy Mysore Silk saris look beautiful and one tends to look slimmer.
2.Shorter women should buy saris with small borders or no borders. They should definitely avoid big borders as big borders make one look shorter.
Sari is a rectangular piece of unstitched fabric which is draped in a very fascinating manner. The length of the this fabric is.. 6 yards ( 5 meters) long. This is a one piece of clothing which fits all.. fat or thin short or tall!!! The traditional 6 yard saree allows for generous pleating, and draping around the body and over the shoulders almost Grecian in style. The loose end of the fabric, which is thrown over the left shoulder, is known as ‘Pallu’. Pallu usually has extensive design or embroidery woven into it. There is a petticoat , or a slip, which is worn under the saree which holds the saree in place.Along with the saree is a blouse, which unattached to it.
